THE HOUSE

In Dajianpang Village, the lake is not a distant view. It is the edge of the house.

Designed by a noted local architect, Dream Island · Erhai sits at one of Shuanglang's clearest vantage points, close to the water and facing Cangshan. The two-storey house contains just seven rooms, alongside Dian Xin Yuan restaurant. Local stone, old trees and changing lake light give it the intimacy of a private home.

SEVEN ROOMS

NO REPEATED FLOOR PLAN

Each room is its own
way of meeting the lake.

01

Seven rooms, seven names

Wenyue, Zhihua, Yunyu, Liyu, Jingyue, Qiushui and Muxi — a small room collection rather than a repeated hotel floor plan.

02

Natural to the touch

A restrained palette of warm white and grey, cotton and linen, weathered furniture and local stone keeps the rooms grounded in Dali.

03

The lake, framed differently

From the 52 m² Muxi room to the 48 m² Jingyue room, windows and terraces turn Erhai into part of the interior.

03 · DIAN XIN YUAN

Dinner beside
the changing lake.

The restaurant combines local Yunnan produce with Western techniques rather than repeating a conventional Bai menu. Lemongrass grilled fish, black-truffle pizza and mint-scented fried ribs are among the kitchen's own signatures.

Stars, water and moonlight turn dinner into an experience of place.

04 · THE SHANJIAN NEIGHBOURHOOD

Coffee by the water.
Books on the old street.

Next to Dream Island, Shanjian Cafe brings the shoreline into the day; nearby, Shanjian Bookstore sits on Shuanglang's Minzu Wenhua Street between the old stage and Kuixing Pavilion. Together they extend the stay beyond the room into a small local world of food, art and unhurried time.
